24 March 2010 - Ettrick Riverside, Dunsdale Road, Selkirk, Selkirkshire, TD7 5EB.
Sustainability and practical issues in new-build and retrofitting
Assessing the existing stock of buildings in Scotland is a good opportunity to reduce energy use and meet the Governments carbon target. The approach to this is not always clear and several relevant issues need to be considered.
BREEAM: driving sustainable development
There is a growing awareness of sustainability issues and an increasing interest in building these into project aims. However, the spread of issues involved require directing this effort in a meaningful way to achieve measurable and progressive aims. BREEAM provides a focused methodology to address project issues.
Integrating micro-renewables
An introduction to the various microgeneration technologies and consideration of design and practical installation issues to help achieve carbon reduction for both newbuild and retrofit projects.

John Reid and Colin Sinclair
